Live Slow, Die Old: Time is an Illusion

Have you ever heard the phrase “live fast, die young?” I’ve always wondered—why would I rush through life when there’s so much to savor?

From a young age—society feeds us timelines like they’re the holy gospel.

Be an adult by 18. Start drinking at 21. Be married by 25. Have a thriving career & kids by 30. Be rich by 40. Retire by 65… It’s like we’re all trying to win a race no one asked to run.

So answer this: What happens when your story doesn’t align with these invisible time stamps? What if the path changes, & you’re not on schedule? Is it game over?

Not even close, My Friends.

The world is ran by numbers. Yet time is an illusion—manmade. Pushed onto us like a deadline.

You realize that it’s not about hitting milestones at a specific date when you take it steady, & simply breathe. It’s about growing, evolving, & living in alignment with yourself. Not the clock.

Personally, I take my life one day at a time. I notice the way the wind moves through the trees. I laugh when my daughter bursts into giggles over something silly. I watch the sun pour through the window like gold. In these quiet moments—I realize I’m not behind. I’m not late. I’m truly just existing.

The journey is not about catching up to anyone. It’s about forward movement—internal growth, peace of mind, & genuine happiness. That’s what really matters. Not the age you are when you “make it,” but how deeply you feel alive along the way.

The truth is—the most revolutionary thing you can do in a world obsessed with speed… is to slow down & truly cherish the moments.

Forget the rat race forced upon us🖕🏾

Live slow. Die old. Let your days be full, not fast!🫶🏾
