Life, Love, and Library Dates: Our April Adventures

Life has been so full lately — in the best way. This past week was all about living, loving, & soaking up the simple joys with my daughter.

We kicked it off by celebrating her Celebration of Learning event to end 4th grade with a bang! She sang with her classmates, & it was the cutest thing ever.

Of course, I showed up in my rich, coastal mom & wife outfit — trust me, it matters! Always look your best in front of teachers & educators. You reflect your child, & it makes a difference in how they’re treated — no pajama pants, bonnets, or bad attitudes, okay? Thank me later!

The nachos were a 2/10 (note to self: always eat at home), but seeing my girl happy with her friends made it all worth it.

I can’t believe she’s almost done with 4th grade — one month left until my baby is a 5th grader! It’s bittersweet doing this solo, but we’re making it happen, and we’re doing it with love & style!

The highlight of the celebration was definitely the Space Walk. The lights, the music — the whole vibe had me ready to buy a projector for my room immediately!

Later, we found a new hidden gem of a library in the suburbs. Kendall says it’s her favorite one so far! We’re officially on a “Library Tour” mission to find the best one in the city.

This one had the cutest colorful cubbies for reading. I even found a graphic novel version of Twilight (total nostalgia moment)!

I was in full “dad era” aesthetic mode: oversized blue-and-white Ralph Lauren button-up, khaki knee knockers, leather belt, white mule loafers, & my navy St. Tropez Yacht Life hat I found for a bargain. It’s giving coastal granddaughter energy, & I’m obsessed.

We even got inspired by Matilda (one of my favorite childhood movies) & made the most delicious 10/10 chocolate cake together after watching the classic chocolate cake scene! It brought back all my memories of reading Roald Dahl books when I was her age.

We also found another library across town (cute, but not topping our favorite), took our daily walks, & hit up the skate park where Kendall showed off her scooter tricks. I relaxed with Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks (highly recommend both the book & the movie!).

All in all, April showers brought way more blessings than I could’ve imagined. I can’t wait to see what May flowers are about to bloom for us next!
